Overpriced, you get very little food, and either my salad dressing had gone bad or that's the worst dressing I've ever had. The staff were very nice though.
Gyros are awesome , outside live singer on the weekends is great entertainment. Load music with your Hookah . A piece of the old country.
My family and I went here for lunch recently and did not have a good experience. Pictured is the gyro plate and I was disappointed to pay $15 for this plate. I’ve had Mediterranean food before and the taste of the gyro and the tahini was bland in comparison to other chain Mediterranean places like Cava. There service was terrible as well. Our server did not seem familiar with the menu at all and any time we asked him to explain anything or asked him about house specials or what he recommended he just said to refer to the menu. He also misunderstood our order and instead of sharing one plate for my sister, mother and I, he gave us each our own gyro plate. Thankfully another server understood the mix up and she was able to fix it. Overall I would not come back to this place
Easily, five or six entres and a half of the deserts on the menu are never available - "uhhh, we don't have that". Duh, get 'em off the menu!?!Food is nothing special. Plenty of other middle eastern places nearby in Tempe for a better dining experience! This is more of a shisha place, but was nearly empty when we were in.After the waiter verified the orders twice, food still came out wrong. Missing a couple of items, and waters!Ordered some extra food and half came out rather uncooked. Not again!
Fantastic pita. One of the best pits that I have had. Highly recommended the chicken pita and chicken salad. House dressing is great. I will be back again. Thank you for the great service and food.
To be completely honest, the ambiance looks nice, but the service was absolutely terrible. The hookah was alright, definitely had better hookah in other parts of the valley. The branding on the water bottles is a nice touch but I wanted iced water in a cup with the hot AZ weather. I don’t think I’d come back...
8pm Saturday night. No other customers here at all.Been sitting here 20 min. Had to get up and ask the owner, who is sitting in the corner eating his takeout food from someplace else, if they service any food or drink here.10 min later one of the only 2 staff members, both who had been standing outside talking and not even acknowledging us when we walked in, finally came to our table. Without menus, he asked "you want something ?" I asked for Menus first...He came back with menus a several minutes later and left. We had to flag him down to finally take our order. The food came pretty quick. About 10-15min. He dropped off our food without a word, and never return to our table again...
Nice place good ambiance, lots fun and friendly people
They worst service ever and they charge me extra 100$
Unless you want to have to call your bank about the big tips they decide to give themselves, and cigarette butts laying around inside the restaurant, I’d suggest going somewhere else. This place is trash
I would like to nominate the Pita House for the worst restaurant in Scottsdale. I really think they are a contender!
This place was fun for hookah and live music. They definitely need more waiters even though the service was good. The mimosas were fresh orange juice!
Terrible service! The employees made us wait a while for the menus and once we ordered it took them another 40 minutes to bring our food. Over priced and dingy!
Food is okay. The lobby is really dirty, which makes me worry about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I felt a little sketchy about my order.
The Arabic "singers" are too loud. Sound echoes out giving migraines to everyone within quarter mile. Also the voice cracks half way into the song
First off we sat down and watched 3 different people walk past us and not even acknowledge us or to tell us someone will be with us shortly. I then had to get up and ask 3 times for a menu. It was cold and they had the heat warmers out so we asked if there was a table open with one or to have one moved to our table. I was rudely told there weren’t any available and watched the guy working drag one to the table behind us who came in 15 minutes after we did. To make it worse I had to ask multiple times for our check because we were fed up with the horrible service and wanted to leave. I won’t ever go here again and will let others know not to expect any decent type of service
I’d give this 0 if I could. The tables were all empty but the host refused to seat us anywhere except by the front parking because we were only 2 people. He was rude and when we asked for water he brought us 2 bottles. I flagged him down to tell him I meant tap water but he said they ‘don’t serve that’. Then I asked him how much I had to pay for a bottle of water and he said $3 each. We had such a bad feeling so we got up and walked away. Thank goodness we did because after reading these reviews I’m happy I didn’t waste any more time or money at this place!
I saw 3 giant roaches walking around while I was there. When we asked for water they brought water bottles that were $3 each, and when my friend handed the bottle back and asked just for a glass of water we were told they can't do that
this is my favorite hookah place in town, i come to this place regularly and I order a Lemon mint hookah, free WiFi and the best partying on the weekend with, in my opinion, best DJ in AZ, every weekend, he plays all kind of music which I really enjoy. Their food is deish!! best hommus and tabbouleh Ive had in the US, I definitely recommend this place
The counter people were in no hurry to take our order. Falafel was not good, neither were fries. Hummus was actually great and garlic-y. Would not go back and wouldn’t recommend.
I have never taken my time to review a place no matter how good or bad it is but this the WORST experiences I have had in my life. The service is horrible. There are two workers there and one is eating in a corner could care less that you walked in and have to grab the menus by yourself and figure out where you have to order. Then once the other worker comes back to finally take your order, he is rude and just acts like he does not want to be there. I have never in my life experienced just bad customer service. After we got out food, he forgot to give us our drink and made the biggest deal out of getting the cup out. The food also has nothing great about it. They screwed up our order in the first place and the portion sizes are way too small. The gyro meat inside of it is nearly non-existent. This place needs to either get a whole new staff or shut down.
I agree with every low/negative review on here... Decent employers/employees provide decent service and decent customers go where there's decent service! It's that simple!Update:Thank you for the offer!
Food not that bad, a bit expensive compared to other similar restaurants in town. People who work there were incredibly not nice lol. So not nice it was almost comical. The two ladies argued over who was going to get off the phone to take the order. Also, this is Arizona... You could try air conditioning? Maybe the people who work there wouldn’t be so angry. There are several Mediterranean/kabob/Afghan/middle eastern etc type restaurants in town run by families of wonderful people. Try one of those instead.
Racist owner , Horrible service, overpriced bad food!
Food is less than okey. Nothing is available mentioned in menu. Restrooms are dirty and worst.
Great place for having arabian authentic food ! Love food and service! Highly recommended
Nice place here. The area is very interesting and has an exciting atmosphere. The food was tasty. I would suggest stopping here on a sunny day and having a meal outside.
First off, I was told outside only service upon arrival... in 100 degree weather. And I couldn't tell you about the food. I ordered a Greek salad and an iced tea. After 40 minutes of getting neither, I gave up and left. Not even offered water. Wish there was a negative star system. If you've read my reviews before, I always find a positive... not possible here.
i ordered a tabbouleh salad and it was definitely not worth $8. my brother was also displeased with the fully loaded gyro he ordered when it turned out stale. took forever for the food to come out when it finally did it looked like frozen costco food. the service was awkward and uncomfortable so don’t expect to see us back anytime soon.
Full bar and hookah how can you go wrong??
Just stopped in to get a TO-GO Falafel Pita to grab some lunch.. Never in my life have I ordered a Falafel Pita and my Falafel is mashed up inside the pita and to top it all off there was a BLACK HAIR in my food. I should have known to turn around and left after NO one was wearing masks and after using the restroom which smelled HORRIBLE and was super dirty! NEVER AGAIN!!
We visited the Pita House during a photo day in Scottsdale and have to say, it was a big mistake. The food was aweful. We should have seen the warning signs when we were handed scrappy, dirty falling apart menus....We gave it a go and ordered two Beef Shawarma Pita meals with cokes. The service was prompt but the meat had been cooked in old rancid fat in a frying pan and tasted aweful. The pita sauce had curdled and was separating with the meat grease - Yuk. In fairness we complained to the waiter who apologized and gave us 50% off our bill to compensate. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone...We eat out quite often and love to eat Greek food and many other ethnic foods from around the World so our pallets are quite educated. We are not picky eaters and so it cannot be said we were just unaccustomed to this type of food.... This was just poor food to the point that we could have been really sick if we had continued to eat this food.
The food was delicious and the service is really great. We were accommodated with a few different requests with no hesitation! Really not sure why the bad reviews but I'm guessing it's because of the basic decor. We really enjoyed our meal!!
My family ordered food to go from this restaurant. We were very unimpressed for the price. Portions are small and sides are very plain. Ordered a chicken kabob to go with my Greek salad and the chicken looked questionable in the middle as if it wasn't cooked all the way. The tzatziki sauce was too tangy. We will not be returning.
Really great little spot. The service was good. Mostly younger staff. Judging by the accent I assume its family members. They tried hard and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is light and there is plenty of crowd watching to do. I give it a "must try".
BEWARE ! This restaurant may charge you for tip on your transaction which you never authorized. I have been a victim of this. This is completely unacceptable as it is integrity and honesty issue. The food is expensive, quality is OK , quantity is less.
Worst place I ever been the hookahs was disgusting and the menu prices does not match what you will get charged at the end the heater were broken stay away from this place
Feels like a front
This place is a dump. Only one guy running around, had to leave to get change. And was unfriendly, food was not good as well. Stay away from this place. Sorry. I wonder how this place is still open.
Service here was terrible. I didnt even order because of how rude the staff was to someone else. Looks like a cool spot at night.
Recommend
We arrived at 7pm on Saturday, the whole restaurant was empty. Things went downhill from there. Wife had to use the restroom and she saw roaches in there. I can only hope the kitchen was clean. They don't serve water here but sell a tiny bottle of water for $3 (stores sell 24 of those for $4). The menus look old and dirty, and they should replace them. The falafel sandwich looked sad with tiny little falafels. The only upside was the owners seemed friendly but they need to seriously consider making some changes here to get repeat customers.
Horrible service.Ordered food for almost a 100$ through door dash and the owner cancels it 2hrs later. Bad experience. No more orders from this place
DO NOT EAT HERE!Worst place ever been charge you 4$ for water Customer service was horrible Not a presentable place do not eat inside! This place should not be in business periodSomeone take this place outa business please! So others don’t have to go home with a disappointing evening and less money
Very bad experience. Bad customer service way over priced. Disgrace!!! Dirty and employees are rude!!! The whole place is empty but we went allowed to sit anywhere but at the front were it was cold. When asked to sit elsewhere were told we can’t it’s reserved the whole place is empty and no one ever came to sit there. Definitely wouldn’t never return!!! Bummer I use to go there a lot but it use to have a different ownership. So sad and disappointed to see that this place is going down the hill. But customer service for sure!!! Wish this place best of luck!!! Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!!
Disgusting! Pissed I paid 10.0p for crunchy overcooked falafel and a gummy pita. Absolutely pissed. Will never waste my money here again.
It was really expensive 1 pat tea and3 water for 25$ 😂
Gave a 3 star just to be fair cz at the end of the day we had a good laugh , good music & a good hookah (until the belly dancer hit the coals away and they were not replaced) drinks were not refilled, food was a no no. The waiter was nice but again needs to pay more attention to his customers and check on them. Also they should have water and ice like all places do specially in AZ's heat. Maybe it was just a bad timing. Wish everyone a better experience 💕
The food was great! If you like hookah, this is also a good spot for that. Most if not all nightime seating is outside. I say try it out! It's a good alternative to the other local spots :-)
Pita House had some very tasty food that was prepared quickly. Prices were reasonable for Oldtown Scottsdale. The issue I had with it was that they did not serve any tap water, only bottled water for $3. Atmosphere was relaxed and if you don't mind people potentially smoking hookah mere feet from you you'll enjoy it!
